By and large, the different exams can be categorized into leadership tests and cognitive ability tests. Often, clients of Korn Ferry will choose to administer one test from each group in order to optimize their recruitment process.

Korn Ferry uses the "Leadership Architect", a research-based framework for leadership skills they've created, to create a variety of tests. After a candidate has taken the test, Korn Ferry creates a custom report, ranking them on a subset of leadership competencies out of the 38 included in the "Architect" framework.
Cognitive abilities are measures of fluid intelligence that predict high performance for a prospective candidate, because the correlate with quick learning, high problem-solving ability, and out-of-the-box thinking. These tests measure numerical reasoning, logical reasoning, verbal reasoning, and attention to detail.

The Talent Q tests Aspects are a series of 3 aptitude assessments designed to evaluate your reasoning abilities when performing under time pressure.
The assessments are adaptive, which means that the difficulty of the questions varies according to your answers – they become harder when answering correctly and easier when answering incorrectly.

The Korn Ferry Leadership Tests are a series of assessments designed to identify leadership potential, based on 38 competencies commonly associated with good leadership (when in moderation).
The Korn Ferry Assessment of Leadership Assessment (KFALP) and Korn Ferry Four Dimensions (KF4D) are the main two, and they are included in our prep course.
Recently, Korn Ferry also offers the "Interview Architect". This is a structured interview, designed to take 60-90 minutes, that covers 5-7 leadership comptentecies chosen by your potential employer.
"Structured" in this context means the interview has a set series of questions which are the same for everyone. You will be asked one main question per comptenecy, then a series of follow-up asking you to descibe something you did related to this skill, how you thought about the problem, what the results were, what you learned from this experience, and how you plan to apply these lessons in the future.
Both are leadership tests based on Korn Ferry's 38 Leadership Competencies. Sometimes, they are administered together as one test.
However, the KF4D is designed to evaluate candidates for an actual role. The employer will choose competencies and goalposts to measure, based on the skill required by that specific open position.
Conversely, the KFALP is not about making decisions in the near future. It's more about mapping out which employees have leadership potential, and what kind of leaders they may become (what motivates them, are they good with people, etc.). The test can be given to anyone regardless of where they are in the organizational structure, it's more about planning how to develop employees' careers in a way that will help them feel needed and actualized.

The Talent Q Dimensions is a personality assessment designed to profile your traits, characteristics, and work-related behaviours and skills. This assessment examines whether you are a good match for the job and the organization’s environment.
The Talent Q Cultural Appraiser assessment is a Situational Judgment Test designed to evaluate your work-related behaviors and approaches and determine whether you match the characteristics of the job you applied for and fit the organization’s culture.
You will be presented with workplace scenarios, reactions, and responses. You will need to choose the most and least effective options.
The Talent Q assessments Cultural Appraiser assessment has two versions – one with only text and the other with video and audio.
Both versions of the test have 15 questions.
