Trade Apprenticeship Exam Preparation

Although each trade apprenticeship exam questions types slightly differ depending on the skills necessary for the job, the majority of them contain many of the question types found in this pack. 

The test is offered by the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) for aspiring electricians who want to apply for the union's apprentices. It has two sections: The Algebra & Functions has 33 questions with a 46-minute time limit, while the reading comprehension section contains 36 questions in a 51-minute time slot.

The EIAT test is required for anyone who wishes to become an elevator mechanic. The main subjects in this test are Reading comprehension, Mechanical Comprehension, and Arithmetic computation. Note that you are scored here according to the correct answers only.

This test involves math questions (Algebra, Geometry and so on), essays about daily scenarios ironworkers scenarios, and mechanical questions.

• A combination of training while working (On Job Training) and guided by a skilled professional team which aims to improve the employee's performance in the process in which they learn the additional aspects of their roles, such as practical aspects and theoretical aspects.
• It is customarily learned in a practical way through a structured, systematic program of supervised on-the-job training.
• It is clearly identified and commonly recognized throughout an industry.
• It involves manual, mechanical, or technical skills and knowledge that require a minimum of 2000 hours of on-the-job experience.
• It requires related instructions to supplement on-the-job training. Such instruction may be given in a classroom, through correspondence courses, self-study, or other means of approved instruction. A minimum of 144 hours for each year of apprenticeship is recommended.

• Today there are about 200 training frameworks and more than 700 different pathways within these frameworks.
• The frameworks are mainly focused on the apprenticeship process, with the ultimate aim being to obtain certification based on qualifications, such as IBEW and NJATC.
• The framework allows you to acquire the skills necessary for your work, but it is very possible that additional training will be needed for the qualification.
• The standards contain a list of skills, knowledge, and behavior that needs to be learned by the end of the training process.
• Standards focus on occupation; they do not lead it. Learning is done while the process is in progress and the ability is assessed at the end of the process.
• The standards require the apprentices to perform all aspects of their work to meet the needs of the employers.
