Prepare for the Tech Industry Hiring Process

Jobs at tech companies are highly sought after for their lucrative salaries and potential for promotion. The hiring process is similar for most jobs, although the assessment tests you have to take vary depending on the position to which you are applying, either it is a post of sales manager, or it is a position of web hosting provider manager demanding advanced skills and knowledge in the field of web hosting solutions.

1. Submit an online application detailing your work history and education.
2. Take online assessment tests. These assessment tests may include reading, math, and spelling tests, personality tests, mechanical aptitude tests, and situational judgment tests, depending on the position to which you are applying.
3. Complete a phone or video interview. This is a basic interview to verify the information you provided in your application and to expand on your motivation for applying to the position and company. This step is part of the preliminary screening process.
4. Be invited for an in-person interview: in this interview, you will be asked mainly behavioral questions. You should answer questions according to the S.T.A.R. format:

T: explain your task(s)

A: describe the actions you took

R: summarize the result

5. Complete an interview with human resources.
6. If you are applying for a warehouse/maintenance or technician position, you may have to pass tests that evaluate your physical abilities, such as a pole climbing test.
